Learn how to create a task and assign it to other farm users. Below we will show you the steps to do so, and explain each section of creating a task.
‘Create’ Task Permission
- In order to create tasks, a user first needs to have the ‘create’ task permission enabled.

Steps to Create a Task - Mobile
- Select the blue plus sign on your screen.
- Select ‘Create Task’.
- Or - If you are on the tasks page, hold and press the blue plus sign.
- Add information such as instructions, attachments (photo's, videos, files etc.), assignees and so on.
- Select ‘Save’.

Steps to Create a Task - Desktop
- Select the green ‘Add’ in the top right hand corner.
- Select ‘Create Task’.
- Add information such as instructions, attachments (photo's, videos, files etc.), assignees and so on.
- Select save.

Section Explanation:
- Below we will break down each section of creating a task where a user can input information.

Instructions
- In the instructions section, add your written explanation of the task.
- Pro Tip: We recommend to be descriptive and thorough with your written instructions so that yourself, the assignee or anyone coming onto farm could read the instructions and have a good understanding of the task at hand.
Attachments
- Here, you can add multiple different types of attachments to the task. These include: photos, videos, live photos (mobile only), files (pdf, jpg etc.) and live voice recordings.
- Pro Tip: If you are on desktop, you can drag and drop files into the record you are creating.
Assignees
- Here, you need to select which user or multiple users the task will be assigned to. Once you save the task the users will get a notification that they have been assigned this task to complete.
Paddocks
- Here, you can select the paddock[s] for which this task applies to.
- For example: if you are creating a new task to install a new fence in one of your paddocks, we would attach this paddock to the task.
Map Layers
- Here, you can use our interactive map tools to draw layers, instructions, points, areas etc. on the map to be attached to the task. This is a great tool to share accurate, visual information to support a task.
- For example, when creating a task around installing a new fence. You can use map layers to draw exactly where you would like the fence placed. You can draw lines, add points etc. to give a visual instruction to support attachments and the written instructions section.
Due Date
- Here you can select the due date for when you would like this task completed by. By default when creating a task, the due date will be your current day.
Best Practices:
- We recommend sharing as much information, details, photos, attachments etc. when creating tasks. This makes it a lot easier for staff and anyone who may be viewing tasks to easily be able to find, and understand those tasks.
