4. How To Edit Paddocks

Learn how to edit paddocks, where you can add more points, delete points, use the snapping tools, edit the paddock name, colour and effective area. Also how to move the paddock label.
Navigation and set up.
- From the paddock toolbox window. Select ‘Edit’
- Click the paddock you wish to edit.
- Select the ‘Instructions’ tab for instructions and tips in editing your paddocks boundary.
- If you wish to simply edit the paddocks name, colour or effective area you can skip this step by selecting ‘Finish Drawing’ or the starting point straight away.

Edit Paddock Boundary.
- If you wish to edit the paddock boundary/ lines, use the tools below and in the instructions tab to do so.
- Left click: Left click on the map to add new points to your new paddock. Or, left click or click and drag the smaller points in between the main points to add a new point.
- Shift key: Hold down the shift key to snap to the nearest corner. Whilst holding the shift key left click to set a point there.
- Control key: Hold down the control key to snap to the paddock boundary line. Whilst holding the control key left click to set a point there.
- Right click: Right clicking a point will delete that point.
- Click and drag: To move a point, click and drag it into a new position.
- Overlap: Be sure to use the instructions tab and tools available to ensure there is no paddock overlap with an existing paddock. Resolution will allow up to a 1% overlap when you attempt to validate and save your changes, however for precision and accuracy we recommend having no overlaps.
- To complete your paddock after making your changes, either select your start point once more or select ‘Finish Drawing’.

Edit Paddock Name, Colour and Effective Area.
- Edit the name by clicking under name and making changes as you wish
- Select ‘Select Colour’ and choose a new colour, there are more options under ‘Custom’.
- Change the effective area if it is less than the total area. If you already had a smaller effective area and have now made any changes to the paddocks boundary lines you will have to input this again.
- Select ‘Save’ once you are happy with your changes.
Validate And Save Changes.
- After editing your paddocks, you need to validate and save your changes.
- Pro Tip: We recommend only validating and saving your changes made to the map once at the end, after all your changes have been made.
- To do so, select ‘Validate & Save Changes’.
- Select ‘Save Changes’ to confirm.
- Users will then need to sync the app for these changes to be visible.

Splitting Paddocks.
