Below, we will go through each permission section individually.

Farm Permissions:
- For the user to be able to join the farm and log in, farm ‘Access’ needs to be enabled.
- A user with the ‘Access’ only permission can only view tasks sent to them. They can complete the tasks and this will notify the assigner. They can also view the map and any instructions such as map layers associated with the task.
- We call access only the ‘contractor’ permission level, as this is all thats required for a contractor to complete their tasks.
- If the farm ‘Manage’ permission is enabled for a user, they will have all the features and permissions available. This includes being able to view restricted tags, and view and change the farm settings.
Record Permissions:
- If neither ‘Read’ or ‘Create’ permissions are enabled, the user will not have access to the records timeline, and will not be able to create any records.
- If ‘Read’ is enabled, the user will have access to the records timeline, with the ability to filter the timeline and search for specific records. This permission DOES NOT allow the user to view restricted tags, only users with the Farm - Manage permission enabled can view restricted tags.
- If ‘Create’ is enabled, the user will be able to create records for the farm.
- If ONLY ‘Create’ is enabled, the user can create records, and view their own records they have created.
Timesheet Permissions:
- If neither ‘Create’ or ‘Approve’ permissions are enabled, the user can not create their own or approve any timesheets.
- If ‘Create’ is enabled, the user will be able to create their own timesheets for work completed. They will be able to view and make edits to their own timesheets only, and see when they have been approved.
- If ‘Approve’ is enabled, the user will be to view all timesheets, and approve timesheets. They can also make edits to other users timesheets. We recommend ‘Approve’ permission is enabled for managers or those who do payroll only.
Task Permissions:
- If neither ‘Create’ or ‘View All’ permissions are enabled, the user can only receive and complete tasks sent by another user.
- If ‘Create’ is enabled, the user will be able to create tasks, and assign these to other farm users. They will only be able to view tasks they have created or been sent.
- If ‘View All’ is enabled, the user will be to view all tasks created, both complete and incomplete. The user will be able to edit incomplete tasks and complete tasks on behalf of other users.
Chat Permissions:
- If neither ‘User’ or ‘Manage’ permissions are enabled, the user won't be able to access the chat functionality, this includes receiving and sending messages.
- If ‘User’ is enabled, the user will be able to access the chat screen, however they need to be added into a group chat or direct by another user to use the functionality. They cannot create new groups themselves.
- If ‘Manage’ is enabled, the user be able to create new group and direct chats with other farm users, as well as be added to groups.
- Pro Tip: In order to change the settings of a specific group chat, such as the group name, background, cover photo etc. you need to be an ‘Admin’ of that chat.
Best Practices:
- For inviting contractors, agronomists, auditors, accountants etc. onto your Resolution account, we will have separate individual articles showing the best way to set that up with their user permissions.
- Only users with the ‘Farm Manage’ permission can make changes to settings, including other user permission levels.
